Act sections 24–28 (demerit recording, suspension, cancellation, decay) were not proclaimed as of August 2026. Nothing here describes a live PrDP suspension process.

Demerit points attach to the licence

Under the AARTO framework, demerit points are framed against the holder of a driving licence. A Professional Driving Permit (PrDP) is an additional permit for certain classes of work. DemeritCheck therefore uses the same 15-point natural-person threshold from regulation 20(6) whether or not a PrDP is held. Glossary: PrDP →

What we do not model

  • Separate PrDP-only point thresholds (none appear in the enacted 2026 regulations)
  • Operator-card / fleet compliance workflows
  • Employer reporting obligations or rehabilitation programmes
  • Live RTIA / RTMC / eNaTIS balances

For occupational consequences once enforcement is proclaimed, read licence suspension & PrDP and consult a qualified attorney or the relevant official channel.

Relevant offence groups

Professional drivers often look up charges in public transport and operators, licensing and permits, load and dimensions, and cross-border transport. High-severity charges are summarised on common demerit offences.

For fleet managers

You can use the calculator to walk through example scenarios with drivers. Do not treat a shared browser session as an official record — the tool is stateless and educational. Employers FAQ →
