Regulations vs enforcement

The demerit-point schedule in the AARTO Regulations, 2026 is in force. However, demerit enforcement provisions in the AARTO Act (sections 24–28 — recording, suspension, and cancellation of licences) were not proclaimed as of July 2026. This site does not track whether demerit enforcement is live in your area. Treat all outputs as educational until official channels confirm your status.

Source of demerit-point values

Demerit points shown on this site are derived from Schedule 3, column 6 of the Administrative Adjudication of Road Traffic Offences Regulations, 2026 (Government Notice R.7646, published in Government Gazette 54922 on 30 June 2026, in force 1 July 2026), as enacted by regulation 20(1). The 15-point disqualification threshold is from regulation 20(6).
