Demerit points
6 High

Demerit point values are taken from Schedule 3, column 6 of the Administrative Adjudication of Road Traffic Offences Regulations, 2026 (GN R.7646, Government Gazette 54922). This is an unofficial summary for convenience; verify code 2000 against your infringement notice and the official gazette.

Code 2000 (Reg. 123(2)) is an AARTO offence: as holder of a suspended or cancelled professional driving permit, failed to submit the card on which the permit appears, to the registrar or clerk of the court.. A final charge here adds 6 of the 15 points needed for a driving licence suspension (about 40% of the threshold).

What this means for your demerit total

If this charge becomes final against you, it would add 6 demerit points toward the 15-point disqualification threshold (regulation 20(6)). That is about 40% of the published total on its own. Demerit recording and suspension under Act sections 24–28 were not proclaimed as of August 2026 — treat this as educational until official channels confirm your status.
